Inked by the minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Taoufik and Djiboutian minister of Muslim Affairs, Culture, and Waqf Moumin Hassan Barreh, the agreement aims to promote religious moderation.
The strengthening of relations between the two ministries seeks to serve the interest of both countries, Taoufik told the media on the sidelines of the signing ceremony, highlighting the historical ties binding Morocco and Djibouti as well as countries in East and West Africa that aspire to benefit from the Moroccan experience.
"Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, renews its ties with African countries, and always seeks to exchange expertise and experiences in accordance with the principles and teachings of our religion," he added.
For his part, Moumin Hassan Barreh said that the agreement will enable Djibouti to benefit from the great achievements of the Kingdom in the management of religious affairs and to open promising prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
Djibouti "always looks after the strengthening of "national unity, social security and on the promotion of the values of moderation and tolerance," he added.
