The Moroccan ambassador to Panama, Oumama Aouad, was invited to light the candle of Peace, in honor of the role and contribution of the Kingdom to the establishment of Peace worldwide and particularly in the Middle East region.
According to a statement from the Moroccan Embassy in the Caribbean country, the ceremony, organized by the Embassy of Israel in Panama City, and chaired by its ambassador, Itai Bardov, took place in the presence of personalities from the political and diplomatic circles, including the Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Erika Mouynes, as well as the Minister of Agricultural Development, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and judges of the Supreme Court.
Chief Rabbi David Perets, of Moroccan origin, served as a representative of the Hebrew community in Panama, added the statement.
Several members of the said community of Moroccan descent, expressed their joy and pride to witness the country of their origin being honored for its historical and still active role as a bridge between peoples, regardless of religious and ethnic backgrounds, noted the statement.
