A total of 24,612,592 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 23,008,141 the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, noting that 3,780,397 people have received the third dose of the vaccine.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rises to 1,043,225 while recoveries increase to 972,291, i.e. a recovery rate of 93.2%.
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (4,191), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (1,505), Marrakech-Safi (903), Fez-Meknes (539), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (525), Souss-Massa (444), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (251), Draa-Tafilalet (145), the Oriental (126), Guelmim-Oued Noun (102), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (75) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (19).
As for coronavirus-related fatalities, they rose to 14,963 (fatality rate of 1.4%), with nine new deaths reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (4), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (1), Marrakech-Safi (1), Fez-Meknes (1), Souss-Massa (1) and Laayoune-Sakia (1).
The number of active cases increased to 55,971, including 464 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
