Cherkaoui, who was the guest of M24, the continuous news channel of MAP, stressed that in the holy city, there are institutions and people who know very well that there is no political agenda motivating the Kingdom's support for Al-Quds and its people.
This support is however governed by the realism, history, geography and symbolism of Al-Quds as a city of openness, pluralism and living together between the three monotheistic religions, he said.
Cherkaoui underlined that the Agency's plan for 2022 has been put in place in accordance with the requests and needs of Maqdissis and institutions, noting that these requests are increasing due to the confidence enjoyed by the Agency, thanks to the continued support of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
This support strengthens the credibility of the Agency and its place among the Maqdissis and their institutions, he pointed out.
He added that the direct social assistance package is prioritized in view of the conditions and changes experienced by Al-Quds due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He recalled, in this regard, that the financing of the Agency is based on the contribution of the Kingdom at the management level, which is estimated at one million dollars each year, as well as on donations from individuals and institutions.
The Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency on Wednesday approved the first part of social and human development projects in Al Quds Acharif under its 2022 annual plan for a total amount of one million dollars, within the framework of the High solicitude with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, never ceases to surround this holy city and its inhabitants.
