Speaking at the 54th session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (CoM2022), held in Diamniadio near Dakar, from May 11 to 17, with the participation of a Moroccan delegation composed of representatives of relevant sectoral departments, Arrouchi who led the delegation, has, in this regard, highlighted the prerequisites for sustainable development in Africa, which are, he said, regional integration and South-South cooperation.
The Moroccan diplomat noted that the mobilization of funding is not an end in itself, but a means to best serve the vital interests of the African citizen in terms of development at a time when Africa faces multiple socio-economic challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and accentuated by the situation prevailing on the international scene, and its impact on food security aggravated by climate change and energy stress and its implications on the continent.
It should be noted that the delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco at this 54th Conference organized a side-event focused on the challenges of mobilizing the capital market for financing the sustainable energy transition in Africa.
