No coronavirus-related death has been recorded until Tuesday at 6 p.m. and the total number of deaths due to coronavirus complications remains stable at 126, said director of Epidemiology at the ministry of Health, Mohamed El Youbi, in a statement broadcast by MAP on its M24 TV channel and RIM radio.
The official said that 125 new cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed in Morocco over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases to 1,888, adding that 669 suspected cases were excluded following negative tests over the past 24 hours, which rises the total number of excluded cases to 8,034 since the start of the outbreak.
According to El Youbi, 14 other people have recovered from the disease in the same period, which brings the total number of recovered covid-19 patients to 217.
He said that the geographical spread of the virus and the average age of infected people have not changed, adding that the number of local infection cases has increased.
A total of 11,934 people who had contact with confirmed cases have been placed under medical surveillance for at least 14 days since the start of the pandemic, while 5,130 are still under surveillance.
This operation has enabled to report 865 cases over the past days due to the emergence of several cases among some families, he added.
