The security services had discovered disinfection and sterilization products, with falsified commercial brands, offered for sale on social networks, which necessitated the opening of an investigation that led to the arrest of a vehicle driver responsible for delivering these products to several points of sale in Casablanca, according to a statement by the national police (DGSN), reporting the subsequent discovery of a clandestine workshop manufacturing these products from chemical substances whose ongoing scientific expertise will make it possible to identify their nature and the degree of danger they represent.
Searches of this workshop resulted in the seizure of 5,010 bottles of falsified sterilization solutions, 355 litres of alcohol, a barrel containing 60 litres of the chemical mixture used in this criminal act, as well as other chemicals, 2,030 empty bottles and a quantity of stickers used in the preparation of these solutions for sale to the public as certified medical and paramedical products, added the same source.
The suspects have been placed in police custody to complete the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to identify possible accomplices in this criminal act, which constitutes a direct attack on consumer safety, in view of the state of health emergency in force in Morocco, the statement concluded.
