The number of cured people reached, until Tuesday at 6 p.m., 393 (43 additional recoveries) that is 12.2% of the total confirmed cases, while the number of fatalities increased to 145 (2 new deaths) that is a mortality rate of 4,5%, said director of Epidemiology and Disease Control at the ministry of Health, Mohamed El Youbi, in a statement broadcast by MAP on its TV channel M24 and on RIM RADIO.
In addition, the number of cases excluded after negative laboratory results amounts to 14,891, he said.
Concerning the geographical distribution at the national level, El Youbi said that the Casablanca-Settat region remains at the top, followed by Marrakech-Safi, the two alone constituting 50% of the total of the confirmed cases. Next come Fez-Meknès, Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.
El Youbi once again made it clear that the new cases recorded during the last 24 hours mainly come from epidemic outbreaks in industrial units, adding that 18 new cases have been identified at the Casablanca outbreak, which bring the total to 49, while the two outbreaks of Tangier recorded 9 and 5 cases, making a total of 64 and 30 respectively. A new outbreak was also noted in Ouarzazate, he said.
The director noted that the monitoring and identification of contact persons revealed 90% of new cases reported in 24 hours, a total of 146 cases out of 163.
Regarding the state of health of people under medical supervision in all hospitals and specialized centers, 78% are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, 17% are in a stable state, while 5% of them they are in intensive care or resuscitation, he noted.
He stressed that the capacity of the Kingdom exceeds by far the number of people admitted, specifying that the people who are monitored or in intensive care units represent only 14% of the bed capacity allocated by the Ministry of Health.
