Thirty-seven cases were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, five in Marrakech-Safi and three in Tangier-Tétouan-Al-Hoceima, said director of epidemiology and disease control at the Ministry of Health Mohamed El Youbi, in a statement broadcast by MAP on its television channel M24 and on RIM RADIO.
The death toll rose to 202, after two new deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, said El Youbi, noting that the fatality rate remained stable at 2.7%.
The number of people declared cured has risen in the past 24 hours to 4,881 with 107 new recoveries, he added.
The number of cases still under treatment or under medical supervision, called active, is 2,494, said El Youbi, noting that the number of cured cases is now twice as large as the number of active cases.
In response to questions relating to active cases, El Youbi said that the average age of these people is 35 years, with a small proportion of people aged over 65, who now represent only 4,3% of the total active cases, noting that only 0.6% of these cases are in critical condition.
According to the director of epidemiology and disease control, the total number of excluded cases has reached 153,788 since the outbreak of the pandemic, after negative tests of 9,117 cases in the last 24 hours.
In addition, El Youbi pointed out that the geographic data has not changed since yesterday, with the Casablanca-Settat region at the top (one third of the cases), followed by Marrakech-Safi and Fez-Meknès regions.
The indicators relating to the dangerous aspect of the disease and the number of deaths are improving thanks to the stability of the fatality rate and the improvement experienced by certain regions, many of which have not reported any case in recent days, while others have not had a case in the past 24 hours, said El Youbi.
