Forty-nine of the new cases were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 13 in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, 6 in Marrakech-Safi, 2 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, and one case in the eastern region, while the other regions did not register any new cases, said director of the National center for emergency operations at the ministry of health Mouad Mrabet in a statement broadcast by MAP on its television channel M24 and on RIM RADIO.
The number of people declared cured rose, until Friday at 6:00 p.m., to 5,271 with 76 new recoveries, that is a recovery rate of 68.3%, added Mrabet, noting that the number of deaths remained unchanged at 202, meaning a fatality rate of 2.6%.
Regarding active cases, Mbaret said that there are 2,241 (41% women and 59% men), aged 35 on average, noting that 1.4% are in serious or critical condition, and 91.6% are asymptomatic or with mild symptoms.
The official also said that 61 of the 71 cases were discovered as part of the monitoring of contact persons, whose number stands at 43,172, while 6,323 are still under medical supervision.
