According to a statement by the ministry, following the announcement of the first phase of the scientific research program in areas related to Covid-19, which resulted in the funding of 53 projects, it was decided, in partnership with the universities, to fund a second part of the 147 projects which received a very positive opinion from the four regional university centers and were assessed by experts from the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST).
"This operation, which highlights the importance of scientific research, its contribution to reducing the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and its ability to find effective solutions to manage epidemic crises, has made it possible to support 88 projects, 70% of which concern the scientific, medical and technological fields, 20% in the area of economic and political sciences and 10% in the field of human and social sciences," said the same source.
The department of Scientific Research also stressed that this research must be carried out within a period not exceeding one year, so that the Kingdom can take advantage of its results to deal with the Covid-19.
