This royal action also demonstrates "the strong ties that bind the two brotherly peoples," President Embaló said in a statement issued by the presidency of Guinea-Bissau on Monday.
Guinea-Bissau, in addition to several other African countries, has received a medical aid sent by Morocco following the high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI so as to help these countries to manage the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Embaló expressed his thanks to the Sovereign for this aid "sent to the people of Guinea-Bissau in this very difficult period when the whole world is engaged against the Covid-19, and whose weapons to fight against it are appropriate health measures, social distancing, individual protection, lockdown, but above all solidarity between peoples".
The aid, which arrived Monday at the Bissau airport, was received by the Minister of State to the President of the Republic, High Commissioner for the fight against Covid-19, Magda Robalo.
The medical aid sent by Morocco to Guinea-Bissau is part of the implementation of the initiative launched by HM the King on April 13, 2020, as a pragmatic and action-oriented approach, intended to the brotherly African countries, enabling the sharing of experiences and good practices and aiming to establish an operational framework in order to support their efforts in the various stages of the management of the pandemic.
The aid includes face masks, visors, hygiene caps, coats, hydroalcoholic gel as well as packs of chloroquine and Azithromycin.
