These walk-through testing booths, offered as part of the Moroccan-Korean cooperation, are positive pressurized inspection booths for quick and safe screening of COVID-19, said a statement by KOICA.
According to the Agency, these walk-through booths operate as follows; a medical staff member without personal protective equipment settles inside the positive pressurized booth for the extraction of patient testing samples. Patients to be tested then line up outside the booth. This provides medical personnel with a safe and secure work environment, as well as ensures mass screening for COVID-19 in a reduced time. In addition, and since only gloves need to be sterilized, the use of medical equipment will also be reduced.
South Korea has chosen to expand screening to limit the spread of the corona-virus; therefore, innovative screening booths have been set up to carry out massive screening. These walk-through testing booths are positive pressurized inspection booths for quick and safe screening of COVID-19.
In this regard, Korea's ambassador in Morocco, Mr. YUN Seong-Deok, stated that he is “delighted that the opportunity to share the know-how between the two countries to fight against the corona-virus is supported by these screening booths.” “With this initiative, we hope that this time, discussions on effective measures to combat COVID-19 between the two countries will be held,” said the diplomat quoted by the statement.
“We also wish to congratulate Morocco for its efforts to combat the corona-virus as well as its solidarity with African countries through its donations and sharing of know-how and to express our appreciation for the maintenance of the ties of cooperation during this period,” he added.
In its efforts to consolidate bilateral relations and close cooperation between The Korea International Cooperation Agency will provide five “Walk-through” screening booths to Morocco through a special flight, with the objective of guaranteeing rapid tests with minimal contact between medical teams and patients, and ultimately fighting against the spread of the corona-virus.
According to the statement, the initiative demonstrates “the commitment and willingness of the Korea International Cooperation Agency to contribute to the development of Morocco and to share its development experience with the Kingdom and the African continent as a whole”.
