Convened under the chairmanship of head of government Pedro Sanchez, the Council also decided to submit the agreement to both chambers of Parliament, said the Presidency of the Spanish government.
"The agreement responds to the concern - shared by both countries - regarding the scope of criminal phenomena and the security challenges posed by human trafficking, terrorism, drug trafficking and the new manifestations of transnational organized crime", added the same source in a press release.
This agreement, made of a preamble and fifteen articles, regulates the most important aspects of interest in the field of cooperation, by specifying in great detail the crimes encompassing the said cooperation, underlined the Presidency of the Spanish government.
The agreement emphasizes the provisions relating to the fight against organized crime, with specific reference to terrorism, as well as to cooperation in the framework of operational and investigative activities of the various forms of crime, concluded the same source.
