Speaking at a meeting on the regional political dialogue to combat violence against women and girls in light of the Covid-19 health crisis, Mrs. El Moussali recalled the launch of a national digital awareness campaign to protect women and girls from all forms of violence, especially during periods of quarantine, and the establishment of some 65 centers dedicated to women that are victims of violence.
Quoted in a press release from the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Development, Equality and Family, Mrs. El Moussali highlighted the establishment of the "Kolona Maak" platform dedicated to listening, supporting and guiding women and girls in precarious situations.
She also addressed the issue of women's health in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, while stressing the different measures taken to improve women's participation in the economy.
Speaking at another event held on the same day, Mrs. El Moussali presented Morocco's "strategic framework project for the protection of the family."
This project will provide a national response to Family-related problems in order to develop a framework taking into account society changes amidst the spread of Covid-19, she said at this meeting on "Strategic framework project for the protection of the family."
Investing in the family is the most appropriate solution to alleviate social tensions, the minister concluded.
Both events were held online by the EuroMed Feminist Initiative, a policy network that encompasses women’s rights organizations from the two shores of the Mediterranean, and the Jordanian Ministry of Social Development.
