"We have a very good cooperation and a very privileged partnership with Morocco," Johansson told the press following talks with Interior Minister, Abdelouafi Laftit.
The official, who is visiting Morocco along with the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood, Oliver Varhelyi, voiced EU's keenness to see "this good partnership" continue and strengthen, beyond security and migration issues.
On migration issue, Johansson said that migration is a normal phenomenon that must be "managed together" within the framework of "a close and mutually beneficial partnership."
The Commissioner, who wished to "work even more closely" with the Kingdom, stated that she is keen to learn from the Moroccan experience in the area while being open to other experiences.
In that regard, Johansson stressed the importance of "working closely" with EU Member States on migration issues, as part of a "pragmatic" approach and "inclusive cooperation with Morocco and all Member States."
The European official also praised the "enormous" efforts undertaken by Morocco in managing the migration issue.
According to a statement by the European Commission, Johansson will have the opportunity to visit several EU-funded projects in the area of manpower migration and integration of migrants.
She will also visit the Mohammed VI Training Institute for Imams and conduct a technical visit on Morocco's border control activities in Tangier.
