3,877,687 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far (1st Dose), while 499,942 people have received the second dose of the vaccine, the ministry said in its daily update on the situation of the Covid-19.
The new figure brings the total number of infections since the first case reported last March to 485,567, while the number of people who have recovered has risen to 471,410, a recovery rate of 97.1%.
The total number of deaths rose to 8,673, with 4 new cases recorded in 24 hours, a case fatality rate of 1.8%. The fatalities were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (02), Marrakech-Safi (1) and Béni Mellal-Khénifra (1).
New cases of infection have been identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (259), the Oriental (47), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (35), Marrakech-Safi (29), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (24), Souss-Massa (11), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (04), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (04), Fez-Meknès (03), Drâa-Tafilalet (02) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (02).
The number of active cases stands at 5,484, including 366 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
